CRUCIAL HYPOTHERMIA INSIGHTS
Extended exposure to cold water may induce hypothermia, necessitating a balance between warmth and cooling. Hypothermia occurs when our body’s heat loss exceeds heat production, affecting internal temperatures. Four primary heat exchange mechanisms - conduction, convection, radiation, and evaporation - regulate body temperature.
When warming mechanisms like shivering fail to counteract cooling, hypothermia manifests. Symptoms progress through stages:

MILD HYPOTHERMIA: Shivering, goosebumps, impaired motor skills.
MODERATE HYPOTHERMIA: Intense shivering, sluggishness, speech difficulties, impaired fine motor skills.
SEVERE HYPOTHERMIA: Muscle rigidity, confusion, cessation of shivering, cyanosis, erratic heartbeat, unconsciousness.

Recognizing these signs is crucial for prompt intervention and prevention of severe consequences.

OUR PLUNGE TUBS WOULD ONLY BE SAFE IN TEMPERATURES DOWN TO -12°C AND ARE NOT ABLE TO SIT IN SNOW AS IT BLOCKS VENTILATION ON THE UNIT.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Water is failing to cool

If your water isn’t cooling, there could be several potential causes. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot and identify the issue.

Things to Keep in Mind:
1. Extension Cord: If you’re using an extension cord, ensure it’s a 12-gauge, heavy-duty outdoor cord no
longer than 25 feet.

2. Clearance: Ensure a minimum clearance of 16 inches on the side housing the component parts. Insufficient airflow can prevent proper cooling and will void your chiller’s warranty.
Flow rate lower than usual
Reduced Water Flow in Your ELEMENT tub? Here’s How to Fix It:

If your plunge is experiencing lower-than-usual water flow, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve
the issue:

1. Clean the Filter: A dirty filter can significantly reduce water flow, so make sure it’s clean.

2. Perform an Air Gap Removal: Sometimes air can get trapped in the system, causing reduced flow. Releasing trapped air can improve performance.

3. Check for a Frozen Chiller Reservoir: If your plunge is producing very little flow, the chiller reservoir may be partially frozen, restricting water movement. Defrost the chiller if needed.

4. Perform a Deep Clean: Sediment buildup in the hoses can also reduce water flow. We recommend performing a deep clean every 3–4 months.
No Water Flow
To Resolve Your Flow Issue, Follow These Steps:

1. Check Power Supply:
• Ensure your pump is receiving power.
• Verify all power connections.

2. Test a Different Outlet:
• Unplug the pump from the power strip and plug it into a separate outlet, which can be the same one used by the Plunge.

3. Perform a Deep Clean:
• Sediment buildup in the hoses can cause blockages. We recommend a deep clean every 3–4 months.
If your Plunge has minimal or no flow, the chiller reservoir might be frozen.
Defrosting your chiller
If you’re experiencing reduced or no water flow, it could be due to water freezing in the chiller. This issue can occur if the chiller is still running in freezing conditions or if it’s cold outside.

To address a potentially frozen chiller, follow these steps:

1. Drain Your Plunge:
• Completely empty your ELEMENT+ Plunge.

2. Bring Components Indoors:
• Move your chiller inside to a warmer environment.

3. Wait and Check:
• After 4 hours, check if the chiller has defrosted.

NOTE: It may take 24–48 hours for the chiller to fully defrost.

4. Check Flow:
• Refill your ELEMENT+ Plunge and verify if the flow issue has been resolved.
Power issue with my element+
Important: If your Plunge is not receiving power, follow these steps to troubleshoot:

1. Check Extension Cord:
• Ensure your Plunge is connected to a 12-gauge heavy-duty outdoor extension cord. Using a cord with a lower rating can cause power issues.

2. Inspect the Power Strip:
• Verify that the breaker switch on the power strip inside the electrical box is in the “on” position.

3. Examine the GFCI Outlet:
• Check the GFCI outlet where the ELEMENT Plunge is plugged in to ensure it hasn’t tripped. Reset if necessary.

4. Verify House Breaker:
• Confirm that the house breaker for the ELEMENT Plunge hasn’t tripped. Reset it if needed.

5. Test a Different Outlet:
• Plug the ELEMENT Plunge power cord into a different outlet to see if power is restored.

6. Test Components Individually:
Disconnect each component and test them by plugging them into an outlet individually.
